OMG my phone’s ringing!

I just swallowed a whole glass of lemonade kosong I’m feeling woohoo hyper now. It’s supposed to help me doze off you see.

I hereby have a confession to make.

I’m phonephobic.

Sigh… I wish there was a cooler and more mysterious term for this kind of phobia but no, the term alone reveals everything. Hmmm.

Anyway, most people are nomophobic and I’m the total opposite.

This must be that Celcom debt-collector’s fault. Once upon a time, I was in the cinema when that idiot called and scolded me. Got cheated by a promoter who gave inaccurate information just so that I would register and he would earn his comission.

First and second month’s bills were crazy so I terminated the line. Then a stupid bugger calling from a funny number threatened me that ‘kalau you tak bayar kami akan datang ke rumah you nanti you jaga’! (if you don’t pay we’ll come to your house just watch out)

WTF he was so mean! It was so scary okay I was just a secondary school student. ;[ While I was on my way home after watching movie I kept thinking about it and just ran all the way back to my house when I got down from the bus. ;[[

I spent the next few days hiding behind my sofa everytime a motorcyclist passed by. Really! At that time I could only imagine that guy riding a motorcycle and shouting and asking me to pay in front of my house! I was so traumatised…

Later on my mom and I went to complain about the promoter and debt-collector and they simply asked us to report to the police because they couldn’t do anything as they hired other companies to collect debts. WTF. Even funnier when the promoter’s team leader called me and wanted to persuade me into saying that it was not his member’s fault that he gave false information but the company’s  promotion bla bla bla and then recorded our conversation. >.<

End of my sad history.

So everytime when someone calls I’ll hesitate for a while before finally answering because I’ll panic first of all before thinking of actually pressing the green button!

I’m worried of so many things. Worried that it might be bad news. Worried that I’ll stutter and jumble up all my words. This happens all the time when I answer formal calls or calls from strangers. Worried that I don’t have anything to say and the conversation will turn awkward. Worried that I’ll be scolded or threatened for no reason (this is definitely the debt-collector’s fault!). Worried that people will judge me based on my voice and way of speaking. I can continue listing and it won’t end until tomorrow.

Oh no I’m starting to wonder why the heck did I work as a customer service professional? I think that job worsened my phobia! I hate that job so much okay (although the pay was pretty good hehehehe)! And I hate calls even more after that. All those psychos calling in for the sake of releasing their stress on me.

I hate calls.

I JUST FREAKING HATE CALLS!

Looking at my cellphone ringing, I can feel my heart pumping, adrenaline rushing through my veins and sweat covering my palms. Seriously I’m not exaggerating even a bit. T.T

Now that I’m babbling everything out, it sounds really serious to me. What should I do? T.T

Why am I always so weird? T.T

P/S: I do answer calls from family and friends most of the time. In the case of no-answer, I genuinely think it’s because I couldn’t hear the ringing. Those who are close to me will know that I’m truly deaf like that sometimes. ;P
